Jimi Hendrix - .Turning on the Style.- Hendrix and his Band appeared on stage after a 90 minute delay, to the cheers of the patient crowd. Part of this delay was apparently due to repairs on his costume. After an undistinguished start to the set (a distorted version of 'God Save the Queen'), and not helped by the chill night air, Hendrix began to put on the style to turn the crowd around. Interestingly, Dave Gilmour from Pink Floyd was pulled up on stage at the last minute to help with the sound, due to the disappearance of the appointed technician.
